Trip to Montana

My wife and I just got back from a great trip to Montana, so I thought I would post a few pictures from the journey. We went up there with one of her college buddies and her husband. We went through western Wyoming on the way up, and had the opportunity to go through Grand Tetons National Park. Wow those mountains are beautiful. I would love to come back someday and backpack through there, but we had to move on.
The Grand Tetons:
We then went through Yellowstone National Park, and then on to a small town in Montana called Philipsburg where we were staying with some friends. This is small town in a way I being a city boy, have never experienced. You don't lock your doors, ever, you leave you keys in the ignition, even in the middle of the very small downtown, and there is a single gas station/bar, and a grocery store that is only open from 6 am to 9 pm.
Philipsburg Montana:
We stayed in P-burg, as they call it, for a couple of days and then we drove to Glacier National Park in Northern Montana. What a beautiful place. Since Glacier is so far north(on the Canada border), and it was June which are some of the longest days of the year, we took a 2 mile hike at 8:30 at night and got back around 10:30, and it was still light.
If you get a chance to go, please enjoy a Huckleberry shake for me, they were awesome, and try out the pies at the Park Cafe, it was the best pie I have ever had.
Me and my beautiful wife at Glacier:
We saw a bear:
After a couple of days, we headed back to P-burg. We were staying with one of my wife's college buddies, and her husband is a lumber jack. We got to drive up to where he was working that week, and see how logging is done. Very cool.
Cutting down the trees:
My wife in the machine(called the skidder) that drags the logs to the De-limber:
The De-limber then removes the branches and cuts the tree to the correct length:
And the finished Product:
A few days after that, we headed back to Denver. It was a great trip, and I wish we had more time to stay. It was so quiet, peaceful, and a much slower pace up there, and I certainly didn't miss the traffic.

Another great Firefox add-in

Thanks to Chris for this one, it is an add-on called Firefox Showcase. It allows you to see all of the tabs you have open at once, which can be really helpful when you have more than 3 or 4 tabs open at once. Very nice.

Crazy flash website and great game

This is a fascinating use of flash. The artist involved were very creative. Click and drag the picture up and down.

Also, this game is a challenging physics puzzle game. I could solve about 10 of them, but some of them are baffling. Very nice.
